What's a "Timeless" Mom?

While I don't know exactly what it means to have a "timeless" mom, I do know that I hooked my own lovely mother up with the "Timeless Mom" promo from Arbonne for Mother's Day. For $103 dollars, my mom is getting both the cellular renewal mask from the RE9 advanced collection (reg $76) and the age-defying neck cream (reg $95). She is also getting a free gift of the FC5 hand cream and a FC5 foot cream. Four luxurious and very effective products for $100. My mom deserves it.
My mom took this opportunity to upgrade herself to preferred client status (thanks, Mom!). With this, she will receive 20% off all products she decides to buy in the future. Mother's Day is just around the corner! What have you gotten your "timeless mom"? If you would like to consider the Arbonne package, you can contact me directly at v.stachurski@gmail.com. :)

Detoxing with Sea Source

It happens occasionally that I forget I am 28 and party like I am 18. When I was 18, I could drink my face off all weekend and look bright and fresh on Sunday morning. Now not so much. After a weekend of dehydrating cocktails, salty fast food and little sleep, I tend to look a bit haggard on Sundays.

I started doing my own little Sunday Spa Detox with the Sea Source set from Arbonne. The face and body mud mask is a very good look for me.

The sea mud and bentonite clay absorbs oils, prevents blemishes and clogged pores and draws out impurities. Rather than looking a little worse for wear, I can adverse the effects a weekend of overindulgence has on my skin.

The all natural ingredients are: botanical sea extract complex of spirulina, sea kelp, sea lettuce, bladderwrack; Atoligomer sea salt; sunflower and safflower oils, bentonite and ginger root extract.

I love the entire Sea Source line. Another favorite is the Foaming Sea Salt Scrub which stimulates blood circulation and gently exfoliates the entire body.

Rather then admonish myself and throw a hangover pity party on Sundays, I decided that this was a much more effective way to treat my skin and myself on a day off. It leaves my skin very very happy :)

Are You Vegan? How Vegan?

To begin with, I will be very clear about the fact that I am not a vegan. But, I do respect the choice of others to consume foods that contain no animal products. Whether its for health reasons or out of general concern for the rights of animals, everyone has their own reasoning and can make their own choices.

I have always been concerned about how animals are treated when it comes to testing cosmetics and skin care products. I don't need to show you the videos or the pictures. You have seen them and they are brutal. I love animals and the idea of exposing them to cruelty so we can look better makes me feel sick.

In addition, I know that animal by-products are used in a large portion of store bought cosmetics. I don't want to put dead animal fat on my skin.  I have taken the following quote from the PETA website to explain why cosmetic companies use animal byproducts:

Animal ingredients are used not because they are better than vegetable-derived or synthetic ingredients but rather because they are generally cheaper. Today's slaughterhouses must dispose of the byproducts of the slaughter of billions of animals every year and have found an easy and profitable solution in selling them to food and cosmetics manufacturers.

Gross. While it is great for vegans to not eat animal by-products, some may be unaware that they are still consuming them in the forms of what they put on their skin. The skin is the body's largest organ and what you put on it goes right into the blood stream.

Luckily, more and more options are becoming available for vegans and people like me who don't condone animal testing. All Arbonne products are tested voluntarily by consenting humans. They are also formulated without any animal byproducts and the company has been certified by PETA.

My First Beauty Post

Hi everyone! Some of you may know me from the site I'm Charming You or from Twitter @ValTorontoGal. I started this new blog because I want to share my experiences working as an independent consultant for Arbonne.

I decided to do this on the side of my full time job as online content manager for a number of reasons.

First of all, the second I tried the products, I fell absolutely in love with them. I have been using the products for a month and can see visible results. My skin is more smooth and even.

Second of all, these products are formulated without any of the following:

-Animal products or by-products
-Formaldehyde-donating preservatives
-Petroleum-based ingredients such as - Benzene, Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, Phthalates and Toulan
-PABA
-Artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners
-Cholesterol
-Saturated fats
-Trans fats

The stuff is pure Swiss goodness and I am addicted. I think it's really important that people are more cautious about what they put on their skin. There is sooo much crap in drugstore product.

So, I initially started out as a preferred customer so I could get the %20 off. Then, I looked at the business model and decided to give the independent consultant thing a go. I figure I blog about products all the time so this could be a good way of spreading the word about a great product.

Anyways that's my little intro. I am having a launch party at my place on the 21st with some lovely ladies and I will post all the pictures. Stay tuned for product updates!
